Join the ASHE North Central New Jersey Section for an engaging technical presentation on the rehabilitation of the New Hope–Lambertville Toll-Supported Bridge, a historic six-span Pratt truss structure originally constructed in 1904. This session will highlight the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission’s (DRJTBC) ongoing efforts to maintain aging infrastructure, including a detailed look at the lower truss chord pin replacement—identified as the controlling structural element through live load rating analysis. Attendees will gain insight into the project’s purpose, scope, and engineering challenges, including structural steel repairs, modernization of electrical and lighting systems, and strategies to extend the bridge’s service life while preserving its historical significance. Presented by project leaders with direct involvement in the work, this program offers valuable perspectives on inspection-driven design, rehabilitation techniques, and maintaining critical transportation assets in a state of good repair.
